My Life With Rike

A lot has happened since you and me last talked. I've been gone for awhile, but now I'm back with a new blog. I hope you'll join me as we walk together down the road of my life.

Today I'd like to talk with you about Rike. If you've followed my other blog you already know Rike. But what you might not know is how much Rike has changed, all for the better. Well, most all.

Do you remember the pic of Rike attacking me with a knife? Or Rike pushing me down to ground? Those days are over and gone.

Rike is successfully undergoing intensive therapy and his life is all the better for it.

His temper is now more manageable and his violent flareups are fewer and far between.

He's actually fun to be around, now.

But there's a catch.

Rike has a dangerous habit that seems to be difficult for him to break free from.

He developed a habit of sniffing glue during his 2 years of living on the streets.

And although Rike no longer lives on the streets, and although Rike is excelling in school, he's still plagued by his addiction to sniffing glue.

And his habit is rapidly spreading among his friends.

There's no easy answer to this. Glue is easily accessible to Rike. He suffers from deep emotional wounds which hurts him, and sniffing glue is his way of escaping the pain, if only temporairly.

The strange thing is I remember when I was younger I prayed to God asking Him to bring people into my life who abuse substances, and He answered my prayers.

But now what do I do? And how do I do it?

Jamie introduced Rike to the crazy world of sniffing glue.

And now Rike is spreading this glue sniffing disease among Rike's many friends.

What do I do? And how do I do it?
